The Ocean, also known as The Ocean Collective, is a German post-metal band formed in 2000 by guitarist Robin Staps. Their music blends elements of post-metal, progressive metal, sludge metal, extreme metal, and avant-garde metal. Loïc Rossetti has been the band’s vocalist since their 2010 albums “Heliocentric” and “Anthropocentric.” The Ocean has gone through various line-up changes over the years, but they’ve maintained a steady core group. Their sound is characterized by atmospheric textures, heavy riffs, and thought-provoking lyrics.
